PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Black and Afro-American Studies course is to explore the specific and unique experiences of persons of Black and African descent.
CONTENT:
Students will survey a global perspective of cultures as well as experiences within the Black and African communities in the United States from 1400 to the present.
SKILLS:
A few outcomes of the course include reading and writing critically about academic texts and diverse narratives, initiating and participating effectively in a range of collaborative discussions, and presenting information logically and holistically.
