ARTS
Ranked Among Niche 2023 list of Best High Schools for Arts in Wisconsin
The Arts are an essential component of Eastbrook Academy’s curriculum because an excellent Christian education must encompass the entire person — body, mind, and spirit. Studies consistently show that students involved in a strong Fine Arts program are more likely to perform well in academic studies, because Fine Arts bridge the academic, spiritual, social, and physical aspects of learning.
The goals of Eastbrook Academy’s Fine Arts department align with the school’s mission statement of preparing students for college and life by providing students with opportunities to develop God-given skills and abilities, helping them to learn important social skills, encouraging them to be servant-leaders, and prompting spiritual growth, all for the glory of God. Students are assessed based on participation and the development of concepts and skills.

MUSIC
From piano lab to our national touring choirs, to orchestras and worship teams, Eastbrook Academy invests in developing and maturing the artists and performers in every child. Our comprehensive and diverse music program offers opportunities to sing, play instruments, gain an appreciation of music history and theory, perform, and worship God at school and in the community.
Students in grades K4 – 2 are provided a well-rounded general music program in which a vertically aligned curriculum prepares students for success in vocal and instrumental music. Students in 3rd Grade take lessons within the piano lab and students in 4th Grade participate in recorder lessons. Students in these grades also perform each year in a Christmas program, which consists of songs, recitations, and a 4th Grade recorder performance.
All 5th through 8th Grade students participate in either Orchestra or Choir. The 5th Grade ensembles have three 45-minute rehearsals each week. The 6th Grade ensembles have two 90-minute rehearsals each week, while the 7th and 8th Grade ensembles are combined and also meet for two 90-minute blocks. These groups perform a minimum of two times each year, at Christmas and in the spring. As in the younger grades, a heavy emphasis is placed on producing musically-literate students, who can not only sing or play an instrument, but can read and write music as well.
In the High School there are two elective performing groups, Orchestra and Choir. These groups operate similarly to the Middle School ensembles, though at a more advanced level. They also perform in the Christmas and Spring concerts, along with the 5th through 8th Grade ensembles. Students may be awarded school letters and chevrons for long-term participation in these ensembles.
At both the Christmas and spring concerts, literature is carefully selected to represent a wide range of diverse and multicultural perspectives to reflect the diversity of our student body. A requirement for WSMA membership is that ensembles above a certain size perform in a Concert Festival or Clinic Performance at least once every two years. This requirement has prompted trips to perform at a variety of festivals, including Music in the Parks at Six Flags Great America, a WorldStrides Heritage Festival in Chicago, and a performance with the National Youth Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
VISUAL ART
The Eastbrook Academy Art Department is committed to promoting imagination, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills in its curriculum. Eastbrook Academy believes all students need an art education; exposure to art criticism, aesthetics, and art history, as well as studio experience provides students the opportunity to develop their own artistic voice while building strong technical skills.
The study of art has something to offer everyone: it opens doors, creating exciting new educational and career opportunities, and it functions as a means for personal enrichment. This opportunity for individual growth is congruent with the school’s mission of educating the whole student for a life of learning, service, and personal responsibility. The EBA Art Department culminates in a school wide Art Show at the end of each school year.
Art classes are offered for grades K4 through 5th as part of the curriculum. Middle School Students may take a year-long elective visual art classes and/or music classes. High School electives are available to students who are interested in refining their abilities and learning more about art, ceramics, photography, and graphic design.
