As a ‘Christ-centered academic community’, Eastbrook Academy takes a holistic, Christian and diverse attitude toward college preparation which can be summed up using the acronym PREP.
Prayer: We believe that each student should follow the advice found in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
Research: We advise students to research who God is and who God created them to be. That research includes which college, major, or career will be the best fit for them. To this end we provide interest inventories, encourage service and internship opportunities and invite numerous colleges to our campus to visit with our students.
Engage: We encourage students and families to engage in the process by reading and acting upon the regular College PREP emails, setting up a College binder to manage all of their PREP resources, and take advantage of the information shared. Opportunity to engage with our alumni happens when they visit in spring for a special Q&A.
Plan: While we believe college planning begins before high school, Eastbrook Academy makes every effort to personally navigate the high school years with our students and prepare them for college. Academically, Eastbrook Academy’s core curriculum and credit requirements for graduation meet or exceed both the state requirements and the necessary minimum for college admissions at even the most selective schools. In addition, each year our students are provided with opportunities to take the following: AP courses, dual credit classes, Pre-ACT testing, PSAT and ACT testing.
